This is a great new band out of the UK composed of members Mila Oshin and Kris Jager.  This album was released in Dec. of 2005 and is finding it's way into the hands of fans of melodic trip-hop and darkwave styles.  Mila's haunting vocals become the artistic focus moodily drooping over the canvas of the excellent mid-tempo music mixing in various influences and ranges from the sultry trip-hop styles to electronic greats such as Depeche Mode. This album contains a dozen of these easily accessible and likeable and unforgettable pieces.

The album starts off with a sweet melodic approach in the form of "Travelling Light", keeping the mood upbeat and attractive while the vocals add a nice ethereal touch to the piece.  This overall mood and style remains strong throughout much of the album with various electronics and percussion driving the tempo and rhythm.  Breakbeats on "The Boy Must Die" surprisingly don't detract from the song but give it a little extra groove that keeps it moving.  Many tracks feature some experimental noise elements that people in the dark electro scene can appreciate.  Much of this reminds of the noise that's added to several Depeche Mode tracks, adding a nice edge to these pieces such as on the blues laiden "Woman".

The album is packed with goodies with a dozen pieces to choose from.  Favorites of mine that have really grown on me definitely include "The Beginning" which has just been released as the new single from this album.  This track sports that experimental noise quality, but really comes out with excellent slow, heavy beats and differs from the other tracks with an extremely moody and captivating harmonized vocal line.  This piece has what it takes to supplant bands like Delerium and Portishead in the smooth electro scene.  As I listen to it I just can't get enough of the sweet mix that is brought together.  Another real favorite includes the sassy mid-tempo piece "Our Friends The Actors".  The lyrics of this track really come out and make this piece memorable and catchy as the layered electronics provide a cool backdrop.

The album really builds up to the climax of "The Beginning" with it's mesmerizing structure then gradually tapers off with more excellent works like "London Tears" and "Sound Living" to finally wrap up the album with the bonus track "Not To Forget".  These latter pieces all make a great addition to any ethereal library as the music and tempo tunes down and slows down but remains just as captivating.  "Sound Living" does keep the percussion going, but it remains tranquil and allows the background synths and vocals to captivate the listener without distraction for an excellent piece.  At this point we're brought to the finale of the album "Not To Forget" which wraps it all up perfectly.  This piece can make anyone reminisce as the lyrics bring out a subtle peace that's beautiful in it's feelings of nostalgia.

There you have it, another great work hailing from the UK and the first from this band. We'll definitely watch for more in the future! Be sure to check it out, you won't want to miss this one.
